The 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Symposium of Shelter Afrique holds end of this month.

Shelter Afrique has announced on its website that the event which opens at the Nicon Luxury, Abuja on May 31st closes June 4th, 2016.

Shelter Afrique is a pan-African housing finance institution, offering a full suite of funding solutions to developers and finance institutions for new affordable housing projects across Africa.

This year’s gathering which bears the theme “Housing Africa’s Low Income Urban Population” will be jointly hosted by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing.

The meeting offers the best platform for dialogue as senior management of Shelter Afrique and representatives of government exchange ideas.

This year’s symposium will explore and introduce the audience to current approaches and innovations in planning and designing affordable housing for urban low income earners; showcase a range of construction methodologies appropriate for implementing affordable housing for people on low income; and explore financing options and structures for low income housing projects

Shelter Afrique is owned by 44 African member governments (Class A shareholders), and by the African Development Bank and Africa-Reinsurance (Class B shareholders).

As a reaction to this development, Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria REDAN, has called on all its members to be part of the shelter Afrique annual general meeting.

In a statement signed by REDAN media consultant, Festus Adebayo and made available to Housing News he said the participation of REDAN members will create a new understanding of how to access funding from international Agencies like Shelter Afrique.
