President Muhammadu Buhari has called on all journalists in Nigeria to work with his administration in its efforts towards rebuilding the country.

Buhari made the call yesterday while congratulating the new president of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Abdulwaheed  Odusile, on his election.
Presidential spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina said in a statement that Buhari looked forward to working in a harmonious partnership with Odusile, the new NUJ executive and media practitioners in Nigeria.
Adesina said the president assured Odusile and all journalists in Nigeria that his administration would consistently uphold their right to perform their constitutionally assigned role in society without hindrance.
Also, the Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, has congratulated Mr. Odusile, tasking him on professionalism and welfare of journalists.
Yari said yesterday in a statement in Abuja through the NGF Media Office, that the election of Odusile was a testimony that journalists in the country are in tune with the change agenda of the present administration.
According to the NGF chairman, journalism is a worthy profession that requires proper observance of the ethics. He pledged  that the forum would work closely with the new leadership to improve on the practice of the profession in the country.
Also, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has charged Odusile to see his election as a call to duty and to work for all journalists and strengthen the bonds of professionalism.
